Documents You May Need to Ship
If you’re sending a business or taxable shipment, you may need to include:
- GST Invoice: for business or taxable shipments
- E-Way Bill: required if your goods are worth more than ₹50,000
- Transporter ID: needed when a third-party courier is involved
Missing documents can delay your shipment or get it rejected. If you’re not sure what you need, check with your nearest Trackon tracking branch.
Items You Cannot Send
Some items are banned from courier shipping in India. Sending them can lead to legal trouble or your parcel being seized.
Do not send:
- Flammable items (gasoline, fireworks, matchsticks)
- Hazardous chemicals or toxic substances
- Cash, precious metals, or valuable stones
- Alcohol, tobacco, or narcotics
- Weapons or ammunition
- Live animals or unpackaged perishable food
Not sure if your item is allowed? Ask your local Trackon office before you ship.
How Your Parcel Is Priced (Volumetric Weight)
Courier pricing isn’t just about how heavy your parcel is. If your box is big but light, you may get charged based on its size instead of its weight. This is called volumetric weight.
How to calculate it:
Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Height (cm) ÷ 5000 — for domestic shipments
Divide by 6000 instead for international shipments
Example: A 1 kg soft toy in a 50 × 40 × 30 cm box works out to (50×40×30) ÷ 5000 = 12 kg. You’d be charged for 12 kg, not 1 kg.
To save money:
- Use a box that fits your item snugly
- Don’t over-pack
- Pick the right size box for what you’re sending
Your Shipment Timing in Holidays
Trackon follows national and regional holidays across India. Deliveries may slow down or pause on these dates, depending on your region.
Major holidays include Republic Day (26 January), Holi (mid-March), Independence Day (15 August), and Diwali (October). Some regions also observe local festivals like Pongal, Onam, or Durga Puja on different dates. If you’re shipping close to a holiday, plan for a short delay. Contact your local Trackon branch for the exact regional holiday list.
Common Problems & Real Solutions
We looked at real complaints from courier trackon tracking forums and review sites to answer the questions people actually ask.
My tracking status says "Delivered" but I never got my parcel. What do I do?
This happens more often than it should. First, check with anyone else at your address, sometimes parcels are left with a neighbor or security guard. If nobody has it, file a complaint immediately with your consignment number and take a screenshot of the “Delivered” status as proof. Don’t wait, the sooner you report it, the easier it is to trace.
My parcel has been stuck at a hub for days with no movement. Is this normal?
A day or two of no movement can be normal during high-volume periods. But if it’s been stuck for 4+ days with zero status change, that’s not normal, call customer care and quote your docket number directly.
My parcel was marked RTO (Return to Origin), but I never received it back. What now?
This is a common frustration. RTO parcels can take 7-10 extra days to actually reach you after the status changes. If it’s been longer than that with no update, file a complaint and specifically ask for the RTO tracking timeline, don’t just ask “where is my parcel,” ask for the RTO-specific status.
I called customer care and got no real help. What should I do instead?
If phone support isn’t resolving it, use the official complaint portal instead of calling repeatedly. Written complaints create a paper trail with a ticket number, which is harder to ignore than a phone call. Always note your ticket number and follow up if you don’t hear back within 3-4 business days.
I paid for doorstep delivery but was told to collect the parcel myself. Is that allowed?
No, if you paid for doorstep delivery, you’re entitled to it. If a branch tells you to pick it up yourself, file a formal complaint mentioning that doorstep delivery was part of your original booking terms.
My parcel contains urgent medicine or a time-sensitive item and it's delayed. What can I do?
Call customer care immediately and clearly state it’s a time-sensitive or medical shipment, this can sometimes get priority handling. If there’s no response within a few hours, escalate directly to the head office contact instead of waiting on the regular support line.
